Fujitsu General Joins Paloma Rheem Group as a Fully Owned Subsidiary

A new chapter in Japan’s air-conditioning industry, aiming for global growth and innovation in sustainable living.

On August 22, 2025, in Tokyo (Japan), Paloma Rheem Holdings announced the completion of its tender offer procedures, officially making Fujitsu General Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary. As part of this transition, Fujitsu General’s shares were delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange on August 19, 2025.

Fujitsu General has long been recognized for its expertise in air-conditioning systems, as well as its work in information and communication systems and electronic devices. It has also maintained a strong partnership with Rheem, a key company within the Paloma Rheem Group, particularly in the North American HVAC market where they have collaborated on product supply and joint development.

Now as a member of Paloma Rheem, Fujitsu General will seek to expand its strengths in heat pump and inverter technology, while developing critical components such as compressors and motors. By combining these capabilities with Paloma Rheem’s extensive global network, the group aims to strengthen its competitive position in both domestic and international markets.

Looking forward, the integration is expected to deliver two major impacts. First, it will accelerate the fusion of air conditioning and water heating technologies, driving new innovations that enhance energy efficiency. Second, it will contribute directly to the global push for decarbonization, providing sustainable alternatives to fossil fuel-based heating. Together, these efforts are likely to reshape the HVAC industry and strengthen Japan’s role as a hub for next-generation environmental technology.

While Fujitsu General will continue its operations under its existing brand for the time being, Paloma Rheem noted that any future changes to its trade name or trademarks will be announced once finalized.
